RAF THE GOD

Raf Simons youthful celebration at Menswear AW 2015

There's a philosophical schism that exists here: He is a king at Dior, yet here he adapts the role of the youthful scholar.

From the soundtrack (that is, Deep Purple's 70s majestic track, Child in Time) to the cartoons and slogans that were artfully placed on long coats, the collection was a nostalgic homage to Simon's inner child.
To my mind the neon lights that were illuminated on the runway interpreted the meaning of invincibility. A feeling that's associated with teenage debauchery and freedom.

To masterfully provide different layers of sophistication and the ability to transcend the audience is what makes Raf THE God. And I am a believer.
