The nights in the 60s belonged to The Doors and their songs invoked their potent passions - the Oedipal nightmare of The End, the breathless gallop of Not to Touch the Earth, the ecstasy of Light My Fire and the devouring of consciousness in Crystal Ship.
Morrison described their mission in terms of trying to Break On Through to a bigger reality: There are things that are known, and things that are unknown, and in between are the Doors. This is a paean to my tantalising fascination with the avatar of Dionysus - that is Jim Morrison.
Long live the Lizard King.
