How many writers have rhapsodised over the Proustian sense-memories
induced by the fragrance of Fall?
You could argue that September is a month overblown with clichés about fresh beginnings - new clothes, new love and schoolgirlish joie de vivre. How many writers have rhapsodised over the Proustian sense-memories induced by the fragrance of Fall? Even though this season the clichés are all true, here at Purple Haze, we tend to steer away from the expected and delve into new iconographies.
I love portraits, I love street photography and I love creative assignments. So for September's theme, I codified the world through a series of colours: red, purple, black and white hues that sent the clearest message of a revolution. I want to reveal a sense of freedom, a sense of recklessness through my photography.
Inspired by striking portraits of young rebels, neon signs and grizzled visages of rock legends, I'll attempt to create iconoclastic images that will focus on this specific colour palette and hopefully convey a powerful message to society: a world, which we assert to our own identity, unimpeded by prejudice and any other colour.
